The new issue will feature an essay by Joel Bettridge. We met Joel at the Convergence Poetry Conference at the end of September. His essay is one of the redeeming discoveries from Convergence, and it happens to also examine redemption and apocalypse in poetics. I know I sound bitter. But the conference further convinced me that oil is to water as academia is to poetry. That said, we got to meet Peter O'Leary which was really a pleasure. He very kindly invited us to dinner where we had the chance to talk with Joel Bettridge, Joel Felix and his wife Candice Rai, John Beer, Robert Mittenthal, and Eirik Steinhoff. All of whom are phenomenal poets or doing things that are of poetic interest. I recorded Eirik's performance or, co-performance, of a piece from Susan Howe's Souls of the Labadie Tract in order to post it here. I knew I was going to like it before I saw it/participated in it. I am a sucker for People's Mic.
